Explore 29 New Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Set (Featuring a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)
Everyone's favorite pizza-loving superheroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's company, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a exclusive event hosted at New York Comic Con. Could this be a radical addition or yet another Universes Beyond cash grab? Let you be the judge.
Check out below at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with some useful context. All items listed here launches on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27th.
Magic x TMNT: Main Set Cards
Before diving into all the various unique products and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by Wizards. Play boosters for the set are priced at $6.99 each, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.
Let’s explore a few shell-shocking details. First, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where players can cheat big creatures into the battlefield whenever an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference here is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. Wizards also took the opportunity to refine the mechanic a little (Sneak counts as casting, unlike Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu is staying, but chances are we'll see Sneak in upcoming expansions moving forward.
“If we ever go back to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use the original ability because that's where it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” an experienced designer explained. “But in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak will be Standard-legal, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”
That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is one of four special cards with special art created specifically for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist Kevin Eastman.
Oh, and, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing cards outside of your main deck, many players were. But according to Wizards, that's now a legal card in all formats of Magic.
In any case, here are the highly unusual full-art lands from the TMNT set:
Following the company’s current policy, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers say they were careful to make sure the new cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.
“I led the design for 15 months and we knew it would be Standard-legal and what other sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” the designer says. “Our goal was to make sure that they work well with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”
As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype focused on artifacts.
“They mesh together to offer the components for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” the designer added.
Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power
Following a decision to design any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it includes six different legendary creatures that can serve as your commander depending on how you combine them (five of the cards include a unique Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command zone rather than only one). Take a look below:
The Turtle Power deck is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise based on demand. Wizards indicated that it contains 43 new cards in total, which translates to an extra thirty-seven Turtle-themed cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Calculating roughly, this suggests approximately 20 reprints if we estimate the precon comes with 37 land cards.)
What will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.
Standard Bundle (Regular)
As per usual, Wizards is selling a collection. This one costs $69.99 and includes the following:
- Nine Standard Boosters
- Fifteen Foil basic lands
- 15 Regular land cards
- 2 helper cards
- One Foil promotional card
- One Oversized spindown life counter
- 1 storage box
Pizza Bundle
Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it comes in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the items below:
- Nine Standard Boosters
- 1 Premium Booster
- 25 Regular pizza-themed lands
- 5 Traditional foil pizza basic lands
- Two Foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
- Two helper cards
- 1 Large spindown life counter
- 1 Card-storage box
If you’re wondering what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s basically a reprinted older card featuring brand-new TMNT art. Wizards showed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter adding black licorice pieces onto a pizza slice. There are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.
The Pizza Bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Bundle
This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. It includes:
- Twelve Play Boosters (ideal for a group of four to draft)
- One Premium Booster (aka, the prize for coming in first)
- 90 Regular land cards (for building your deck)
- Ten Non-foil double-sided tokens
- One drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)
Cooperative Play Set
Lastly, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to develop Magic products aimed at beginners. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.
The concept here that each Boss card gives unique powers to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts one other card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
